Hello from Lisbon! (it's 31ΒΊC and I'm melting π« ) Things have been super busy since I last wrote to you. I've been supervising my first ever home renovation project β installing a soundproof ceiling to tackle upstairs neighbor noise (one of my pet hates). I can't wait to enjoy a more peaceful environment at home from now on. In other news, I've been thinking a lot about how to extract every last bit of revenue from a blog post. We put so much effort into creating blog content, so it's a waste not to max out its monetization potential. So this is my focus from now on. Not just on building authority with blog content that ranks, but also on making sure it moves the needle for your business. After all, this isn't creative writing class. We're here to grow our businesses. Getting organic traffic to your blog is only half the battle. That traffic is useless if it doesn't turn into leads or sales. We need to optimize each blog post for a relevant conversion, based on the search intent that brings readers to it. For example, let's say you're a business coach. You sell coaching sessions and an online program. You write an authority-led blog post on "how to leave your office job". It's full of your own experience and expert tips. The post ranks and drives traffic. That's great. Half our work is done. But this blog post should also support your business goals. That could look like:
Let's say you want to use this blog post to grow your email list. The best way is by creating a free lead magnet that acts as the logical next step after reading your content. Getting the reader closer to the goal that brought them here in the first place: leaving their office job. In this case, it could be a checklist for things they should do before leaving their job (e.g. have X amount of savings, downsize their belongings, etc). And then we insert this lead magnet as a prominent CTA within this blog post. Here's one of mine, in a blog post targeting the keyword "linkedin profile tips" (it has a 34% conversion rate). You can see how a reader who came for LinkedIn profile tips would really want this checklist. And, don't just place your CTA at the end of the post, but use it several times throughout the text too. You can also put it in an exit popup to catch people as they're leaving the page. In this way, we can capture as many leads as possible. There are lots more ways to optimize your blog for conversions and revenue. I've put together a new guide to help you do exactly that. It's got all the tips and tactics I've used to make money directly from my blog posts. βCheck out the guide hereβWhat's YOUR biggest challenge when it comes to making money from your blog content? You know that feeling when your to-do list is somehow getting longer even though you're working harder than ever? That was me three months ago. I was drowning in repetitive tasks across my businesses - scheduling posts, responding to comments, writing emails, creating content... you name it. It felt like I was constantly playing catch-up. And, to be honest, I'd felt that way for a very long time. It was draining. I knew there had to be a better way. So one Saturday morning, instead of diving...
Greetings from my local neighbourhood coffee shop in Lisbon. It's been several weeks since I last wrote to you. I've been busy building something new and exciting. But first, let me share a little secret with you. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing when I first launched a blog to promote Digital ΓmigrΓ© (my relocation consulting biz). All I knew was: I had a valuable journey to share with the world. So I wrote about it. A new blog post every week. Hours spent agonising over style,...
Hey there, I've got some exciting news to share with you! In between hiking the Madeiran mountains and chilling on black sand beaches... π Praia Formosa, Madeira Island ...Iβve also made an important decision. From now on, my business will focus on the area where I can make the biggest impact β helping coaches and experts get visible online and create clients on autopilot. Why this pivot? Well, Iβve realized that many amazing coaches struggle with the same issues: Theyβre passionate about...
